1. What are you doing in your division, exactly?

I am a second year graphic design Lisaa Rennes. In this establishment there 's first year of preparation focuses primarily on drawing, painting, ... At the end of this year you have the choice between two sections: Archi-Design and Graphic Design. In the first year
graphics courses are focused on the illustration, layout, operation of DTP tools (Photoshop, Illustrator and In Design) and the creation. We made some real competition, a workshop for a week ... The subjects of the different materials used to discover the basics of graphic design. The goal is to maximize their creativity, enhance the visual experience. Courses in history of graphic design, semiotics, marketing and English are also provided. At the end of the first year it is mandatory to do an internship.
In the second year , some materials such as video or multimedia (flash) appear. The creative aspect is pushed with a lot of real subjects. In core subjects various aspects of graphics are discussed as an illustration, packaging, ... Throughout the year, you should be able to develop a graduation project for presentation to a jury of professionals. The diploma is something that you think, creates, develops to convince up during oral: logo design, graphic design, media plan, setting a target. The professionalism is very thorough. A court employability can also better prepare his resume, better know for job interviews. It is a teaching method that seems to work according to our teachers.

2. A continuation of studies which it does it engage you? / How employability?

The two-year training received Lisaa may seem short, but most students leaving school are now employees. Some go to the picture, other publishing, web design, packaging, ... In graphic design there are many areas of specialization. In G3 (second year of graphics) the plurality of subjects can be in this jungle. Some are moving toward pro licenses such as those proposed in Chaumont (Graphic Design) or Goblins (graphics and multimedia). Some people do not feel ready to enter the workforce after two years to Lisa. Specialization is one way as another broaden their professional skills. Realistically, our industry will increasingly become saturated, we must be able to stand out visually and technically.

4. What do you think about your school? (Environment, comparison with other schools you know .......)

What to say about Lisa ... It's a small school with an average of 30 students per class. Paradoxically we know that people generally in our standard, it's pretty bad. The Bureau of students trying to make things happen this year. Teachers are generally highly motivated and friendly. I personally can not complain, I have a good circle of friends with whom it works very well for the preparation. Well of course it comes to us from flipping out, to "gerber" disgust by the graphics but it is a choice of wanting to learn this trade in two years, it's all about rhythm.

5. What qualities they expected from a future student in your section?

curiosity, openness, rigor, humility. It should open up the world of graphic design and culture in general: the inspiration does not come alone. A good designer must be able to live with his time, knowing the trends and understand: I recommend magazines like wad clark or steps. The Internet is a tool that we should not hesitate to use software to search for tutorials or search Graphic. We must also learn to doubt, to take a step back (difficult but necessary).
